My Thoughts

I had never read a Jessi Kirby book before Golden. And all I have to say is I’m glad I found this book. Well, not really. There’s more to say.

This is an amazing coming of age story. I wish I could do this book justice with a better review, but the truth is I still can’t find the words which will satisfy me completely. The book is not a fast paced one; it’s not even close to being fast. The story is told in a very slow, very steady pace and on top of that it’s simple one. And you know what? It needs to be like that. Anything else would have ruined the way this story flowed.

Golden captured my attention from the very beginning until the very last word. The writing was wonderful and emotional. And I could connect with Parker, the main character. She had to make choices. Choices she was afraid to make and who can’t identify with that? All of our lives we a faced with choices, which might be right or might be wrong, but we have to make them anyway.

The book is not long, but it tells this story perfectly in the number of pages it has.
